Master in Christian Leadership
CREST is pleased to offer a Doctor of Ministry program for students who have a Masters degree.
While this Doctor of Ministry is custom designed to fit graduates of the Master in Christian Leadership program, it is open to those who have a different Master degree.
Having mastered your leadership, you are now ready to apply your leadership in a significant way.
The goal of this D. Min. is to empower you to contribute to the theory and practice of Christian leadership in the real world. In three Intensives, we will:
- Help you choose a project for your dissertation, ensuring that it is of practical value to you
- Train you how to research and write at the post-graduate level
- Provide you with additional leadership theory to inform your research and practice of leadership
- Show you how to make your ideas stick
- Wrap all this in spiritual formation
Students are encouraged to give thought to the choice of a dissertation topic from the very beginning of their programs. Dissertation proposals must be submitted to the Registrar and approved by the Academic Dean before beginning any writing on the Dissertation. From the last day of the first Intensive, a mentor will be selected and assigned according to the student's topic of research or focus choice. Dissertations must be worthy of publication and demonstrate the student's ability to conduct independent research, deal constructively with theological issues, and communicate clearly and effectively in written English. Specific instructions and due dates appear in the Handbook on dissertations.
Students who wish to attend commencement services in May/June must finalize their dissertation by the date given by the School. If they cannot complete it by this time but still wish to participate in commencement ceremonies, they may petition for an extension.
The first cohort of the D. Min will be held March 18-22, 2013, at Honeymoon Bay Lodge & Retreat on Vancouver Island, BC. The tuition is currently $9000, with accommodation being extra. All fees are subject to change, however, once accepted into the program, your price is guaranteed.
